Join us for the World Premiere of the documentary film From C to C: Chinese Canadian Stories of Migration.
The film follows a group of youth through a process of discovery as they encounter the family histories of pioneer Chinese Canadians affected by the 1923 'Exclusion Act' and reflect on their own migration experience and citizenship. Filmed on location throughout British Columbia and China’s Guandong province the film is a captivating story of family migration between China and Canada over time.

From C to C is a community-based educational initiative led by Simon Fraser University and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. aimed at raising awareness of these social justice issues among youth and the community at large. The film revisits these histories in order to promote a more inclusive vision of Canada for all communities, and through the imperative of Social Justice Education, asks us how we can 'prevent exclusion from happening again'.

This initiative is funded by the Government of Canada's Community Historical Recognition Program. Other partners are: Fairchild TV, Guandong TV, Wuyi University and CBC.

The screening will be followed by a 10 minute presentation of the accompanying website and teaching guide.

Screening location:
The main entrance to SFU Woodward’s is located in downtown Vancouver in the courtyard at the corner of Cambie and Cordova.
